What Happened on the Cross? A prayer for you
The Judean leaders had asked for removal of the bodies on the cross because the Sabbath was approaching. The Roman centurion came to break the legs of Jesus but he was already dead. To ensure Christ was dead, the Centurion pierced his heart. At that moment, blood and water flowed out of Jesus' heart. The water poured out first. Then the coagulated blood oozed out, rolled down His side, onto the ground, and the disciple John bore witness of it (John 19:17-37). His heart ruptured. The blood payment was made for atonement of our sins. Jesus said he was our living water. His living water cleansed us and made us holy. He paid for our sins with his own blood, not the blood of bulls, and goats. The price paid was the same for everyone. But not every sin is the same.
