Don't Let the World Determine Who You Are

Image
All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. 4  Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. 5  God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. Ephesians 1:3-5 (NLT) We live in a global world that has many social media outlets to voice your opinions. You can show your life to billions of people and make your life more glamorous than it really is. Most people are doing this so they can be loved, accepted, envied or admired. Unfortunately, this can lead to you allowing others to determine your worth and who you should be. This phenomenon is causing a greater number of people to suffer from depression, low self-esteem and the worst financial crisis in their life. The young and old alike.

How to survive trying times

Image
A s an engineer the first rule I learned in writing my computer program was GIGO (Garbage In - Garbage Out).  Your output is going to be garbage because you wrote garbage. Our thought life is the same; fill your mind with garbage and garbage will be manifested in your life. How you survive these trying times will depend on what you fill your heart and mind with. If you focus on the negative and what the Enemy is doing or has done all the time you are actually filling your mind with the work of the Enemy. If you turn it around and think about what God is doing you will fill your mind with the goodness of God. Whichever one you do the most of will be what comes out of you.  We also have a responsibility to understand that God will not bless the garbage in our life. It is illogical to think that you can live anyway you want and then ask God to bless your mess. Only way to survive is to live according to His commandments. Jesus said, " If you love me you will keep my commandments.

Know who is in the boat of life with you!

The boat of life L uke 8:22-25, " One day Yeshua (Jesus) got into a boat with his disciples and said to them, "Let's cross to the other side of the lake.So they set out; and as they were sailing, he fell asleep. A windstorm came down on the lake, so that the boat began to fill up with water, putting them in great danger. They went and woke him, saying "Rabbi! Rabbi! We're about to die!" He woke up, rebuked the wind and the rough water; and they calmed down, so that it was still. Then he said to the disciples, "Where is your trust?" Awestruck, they marveled, asking one another, "Who can this be, that he commands even the wind and the water, and they obey him? (CJB) In Luke 8:23-25; A storm is raging and the disciples are afraid. However, the disciples knew Jesus was in the boat with them. Their boat was filling with water and their lives were in danger. They went to Jesus and woke him up, saying “Rabbi, Rabbi we are about to die!”

Strength and Courage: Expecting a Deliverer

Image
This has been a tough year with many changes personally and  across the globe. Disasters, confusion, foolish men and women that are proud of what they ought to be ashamed of. If I didn’t know any better, I would think that I am dreaming and got stuck in the twilight zone. But this is our world today. It is a different world than any other. Some people have no moral compass, are ruthless, merciless and their hatred is so intense that they march to the drumbeat of deception and death. I really didn't expect some leader to come out against this chaos and deliver us. There is no man/woman who can truly deliver you from chaos that is going on in this world or  see you through your own chaotic world.  Among all this chaos I found  strength and courage that I didn't realize that I had before, and I've learned to take it one day at a time.    Are you expecting someone to deliver you from your own chaotic world? You also can choose to let Jesus, the Deliverer, to red

The Importance of Love in Exposing the Enemy

Image
"For God so love the world that he gave is only and unique Son, so that everyone who trusts in him may have eternal life, instead of being utterly destroyed. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but rather so that through him, the world might be saved." John 3:16-17 (CJB) On Saturday, August 12, 2017, two police air-pilots and one civilian lost their lives in the white supremacist march in Virginia. Many more were injured because they were willing to be among the hundreds of people who stood against hate and bigotry. The march reminds me of the blatant deception and evil that are hidden in the hearts of men. Supremacy belongs to God and God alone. He is above every earthly and spiritual being. He is the LORD, King of Glory, Almighty and Powerful. He is above all else and every false god. Human Supremacy is a deep lie and a plan of Satan to unseat God from his throne in our hearts. God's very being is Love.  Hate is the very being of S

Hungry for Change to Come

Image
Like Hannah waiting to bear a child, change can be long and painful coming.  Many of us who believe in God, our LORD,  feel like the writer did when he wrote Psalm 102:1-2 " ADONAI (LORD), hear my prayer! Let my cry for help reach you! Don't hid your face from me when I am in such distress! Turn your ear toward me when I call be quick in reply!"  The Psalm is from a sufferer who is overcome by weakness and he is pouring out his complaint before the LORD. He has been waiting for God to do something to change his situation. He said that he has even being eating ashes like bread and mingling tears with his drink since God picked him up just to toss him aside (vs. 9-10)!  When you truly trust the LORD you can freely and respectfully talk to him about the pain you are feeling while you are waiting.   I know that I have been in a situation where I felt the same way. I would say, "Just God, do something about this situation because I know you can!  I know you hear m

Discerning the difference between right and almost right

Image
"There is a way that seems right to a man,  but its end is the way to death." Proverbs 14:12 Charles Spurgeon , a Particular Baptist preacher,  strongly opposed the owning of slaves. He lost support from the Southern Baptists, sales of his sermons dropped to a few, and he received scores of threatening and insulting letters as a consequence. He knew that slavery was just clearly wrong! It was an easy decision. He taught his children the difference between right and wrong.  He also prayed that not only would they know the difference between right and wrong, but they would be able to discern the difference between right and almost right!  Almost right is like the answer to a two part math problem you got the first part right, but the second part is wrong, which still makes the entire answer wrong. Yet, you were almost right. Did you solve the second part based on what you thought was right or did you apply the principle of the equation?  How do you discern what is r

Waiting on His Grace

Image
"But Adonai's eyes watch over those who fear him, over those who wait for his grace to rescue them from death and keep them alive in famine." Psalm 33:18-19 (CJB) David, the author states that God eyes watch over those who wait for his grace! Throughout the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, God's willingness to give us grace is found. In the Old Testament (Hebrew Bible) when you received God's grace; it meant that you received his blessings plus his mercy (his goodness toward those in misery) together.  When you said that you were waiting on God's grace, most likely you were saying that you were waiting on both his blessing and mercy to rescue you or deliver you. Maybe to deliver you from the fear of man, death, a hopeless future, danger, evil, enemies, darkness or poverty.  I need his unmerited favor, but I also need his blessings and mercy together.  Waiting on his grace is an indication that I am expecting his grace to come just in time to rescue

Keep your Word

Image
Again, you have heard that our fathers were told, “Do not break your oath,” and “Keep your vows to Adonai (The Lord).” But I tell you not to swear at all - not ‘by heaven,’ because it is God’s throne: not ‘by the earth,’ because it is his footstool; and not ‘by Jerusalem,’ because it is the city of the Great King. And don’t swear by your head, because you can’t make a single hair white or black. Just let your ‘Yes be a simple ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No’ a simple ‘No’, anything more than this has its origin in evil.   (CJB) I recently saw a sign that said, "A promise means nothing until it is delivered!"   Jesus prohibits flippant or empty oaths.  He commands us to keep our word! When we love God we do what he commands. For loving God means obeying his commands and his commands are not burdensome.  P eople never really forget what you have promised, there will always be something in their heart to keep them from trusting you completely when you don't deliver on your p

An answer from God.

Jesus told us to pray, "Our Father (Abba) who is in Heaven" which translates to Holy Father.  Our Father is not a man. He cannot lie to you nor hurt you.  Most of us pray that prayer believing that our Father is sitting in Heaven just watching and deciding whether He will do something or not do it. He hears us when we pray immediately and he answers immediately. He doesn't wait until he makes up his mind. He knows the beginning from the end. He is not sitting in Heaven watching and then making up His mind. He already knew what you would ask and He has already answered. Why is it that some times we do not see the answer immediately? #1 He has chosen the time when He will reveal the answer to you.  However, the answer requires the angels in heaven to do battle and spiritual warfare for you. He has not revealed the answer yet, because the battle is not over. If the answer is going to bring down Evil (the kingdom of Satan) in your life,  then Satan and his angels will ba

2017- The year that the LORD Rebukes Satan and Protects You!

Image
Trust that He will protect and provide for you! I have battled an affliction that makes me aware that every day is a blessing and not just another day. I awake each morning and thank Abba, our Father that he decided to let me live another day. However, when I go to bed each night I am neither afraid or worry about whether I will live or die because I rest in his protection and sleep in His grace.  It is because of my gratefulness that during my morning prayer time I have no music or background noise, because I cannot hear His voice if someone else is in my ear.   It was on the 2nd day of this year I heard the Father say clearly in my spirit these words. " 2017 will be the year the LORD rebukes Satan for you!  I was led to read Zechariah 3:1-2 (NKJV), "Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to oppose him. And the LORD said to Satan, "The LORD rebuke you, Satan! The LORD who has chos
