Hungry for Change to Come

Like Hannah waiting to bear a child, change can be long and painful coming.  Many of us who believe in God, our LORD,  feel like the writer did when he wrote Psalm 102:1-2 " ADONAI (LORD), hear my prayer! Let my cry for help reach you! Don't hid your face from me when I am in such distress! Turn your ear toward me when I call be quick in reply!" The Psalm is from a sufferer who is overcome by weakness and he is pouring out his complaint before the LORD. He has been waiting for God to do something to change his situation. He said that he has even being eating ashes like bread and mingling tears with his drink since God picked him up just to toss him aside (vs. 9-10)!  When you truly trust the LORD you can freely and respectfully talk to him about the pain you are feeling while you are waiting.

I know that I have been in a situation where I felt the same way. I would say, "Just God, do something about this situation because I know you can!  I know you hear me and whatever you are trying to teach me in this, help me to learn it quickly!"  Of course, I can say all of that, but I still must wait on God. Most of the waiting will be me battling it out in my mind on what and why it hasn't come. However,  when I am in a battle (real battle) my spirit reaches down and grabs hold of Romans 16:20 "And God, the source of peace (shalom), will soon crush the Adversary (Satan) under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you. "  It reminds me that this battle will be over soon! Believe it or not, it is during the waiting period our faith and hope should be strengthen not weaken. In due time if you hold on, the LORD will reveal what he has already willed and then you will see the change that you have been waiting on. Realize that you are only waiting for God to reveal to you what the change is that he has willed. I have had employees leave just when we were about to give them a promotion. They left because they didn't think the promotion was ever going to come. However, a lot of things have to happen before we can present the promotion to them. I already decided he/she deserves the promotion but that decision has to go through a process.  After it is approved, HR decides when it can be revealed to that person. There are  times it can take almost a year before I can reveal it! It was already willed that they would get it. However, they decided in their minds that it would never come and gave up too soon! God has already willed that change you are waiting on.

Find comfort in the truth of who God is and that the LORD does not change.  He is not a man where he can lie and because he is the same today, tomorrow and forever you will not be destroyed. Whatever you go through, it is to strengthen your core (soul), so you will have the stability in your mind and body to withstand the Enemy. When you are waiting on change you must seek truth. Knowledge of His word puts truth in your core to strengthen you to bear the weight of waiting on change. The Enemy is the great deceiver and he will tell you like he has told so many that God doesn't care and he has indeed tossed you aside, so you might as well toss him aside. Well that is a lie told by the Liar and it is simply not true. The truth is that God does care for you, and he cares that you are able to stand against the enemy! The more you trust God the stronger you get. The more you trust Satan or the world the weaker you get. The writer of Psalm 102 ends with the fact that God will remain the same and his years will never end. Therefore the children of your servant will live securely! In other words, in the midst of all of your trouble in the end know that he has your back! Just wait it out in faith!

Prayer: Father, you have already willed my life, so let your will be done in my life. Help me to stand and not rely on man, but rely on your mercy and grace because my life is in your hands. Keep me LORD from evil men and wicked companions. Help me to live in peace knowing that you would never leave me nor forsake. You will never give up on me or toss me aside. Therefore, I will never give up on you! Save me, rescue me, deliver me from the Enemy! In Jesus' Precious Name I pray. Amen!

For His Glory,
Patricia
