Turning Your Pain into Power
"He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away (Revelation 21:4 ESV)."
The journey of life has many twists and turns. There are times when a turn leads us to a place of pain. But, we have the ability to used that pain to catapult ourselves to the place of power. The loss of my younger sister was very painful. She unexpectedly died. I was hurt, cried for days, and thought my chest would burst open from the pain of her departure to be with Jesus. Not only was she my sister, but my friend. Someone you couldn't help but love! She was loving, kind, compassionate, and caring. I don't know a sweeter person than my sister, Janice (or JanBaby as our family referred to her).
She started singing at the age of three. You could feel the power of her love deep in your soul, down to your "bones", when she lifted her voice, and breathed out thundering sounds that couldn't be duplicated. She did not sing for accolades, rewards, or money, but for the love and glory of Christ Jesus. I realized that I must do something with my pain. I could not just let it simmer in my heart only to die in my grief. By the power of the Holy Spirit, I made a decision to get out of the shadows into the light and intentionally work to help bring life to women who have felt powerless.
I hope you will rise from your pain with the strength you need to keep going, so you may live a full abundant and powerful life. May your pain not be in vain. Paul, the Apostle, wrote these words to the congregations in Colosse, "For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, Colossians 1:9-11"
Your real power lies in living a life worthy of the Lord and pleasing him in every way. This kind of power will lift you from the valley, and give you victory on the mountaintop. Whatever you are going through get up and strengthened yourself so that you can endure the next twist or turn in life's journey. For he has rescued you from the dominion of darkness and brought you into the kingdom of the Son he loves.
Prayer: "Lord, please allow the power of the Holy Spirit to live in us, guiding, comforting and teaching us through this journey of life."
For His Kingdom,
