How to obtain the peace of God

Image
"Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7.  The only way to experience God's peace is to not worry about anything, pray about everything. It can be hard for the mind to just let things go when the things we need are crucial to our life.  However, the only way to experience God's peace in your life is to make your heart and mind give it to him and trust that it will be done.   I remember asking my Mom to do something that was very important to me.  I asked, and walked way,  and had perfect peace in my heart and mind that she would do it.  I did not worry about it, or look in her room to see if she was doing it. When you are disappointed in a person or about a situation it hurts, but eventually you get over it.  However, when God (Our Heavenly Father) disappoints us we can feel overwhelmed with despair and fear.  We feel as though God has rejected us, and ignored our needs. We ask questions, "Why didn’t God come through for me when He has the power to do so? How will I get through this? " You are my God, my stronghold; why have you rejected me? Why must I walk in gloom (disappointment), oppressed by the enemy? Psalm 43: 1-2 During the days of disappointment, I quickly do a self-evaluation and ask,  "Why am I disappointed?    Is this a selfless want or a selfish want?"    I know in the depths of my heart that He does what is best for my life and me even if I don’t understand it! I refuse to be afraid of what the future holds. If I am expecting Him to take care of me than I am also expecting Him to do what He knows is best for me! He is my redeemer. He is my hope!  P
