How to obtain the peace of God

"Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7. The only way to experience God's peace is to not worry about anything, pray about everything. It can be hard for the mind to just let things go when the things we need are crucial to our life.  However, the only way to experience God's peace in your life is to make your heart and mind give it to him and trust that it will be done.

I remember asking my Mom to do something that was very important to me.  I asked, and walked way,  and had perfect peace in my heart and mind that she would do it.  I did not worry about it, or look in her room to see if she was doing it. I trusted her with the crucial things in my life and with the things I could not do for myself. She always came through for me. She took care of it.  I knew she loved me and she was concerned for my life. I trusted her because I knew she loved me and would pray to God for me. She interceded in pray to God for me and my needs.

When I reached adulthood, she kept praying for me. However, she also said, "You need to know Jesus for yourself!"

This is what I learned. I can trust Him because I know He loves me!  I also live in peace knowing Romans 8:26-27. "And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don't know what God wants us to pray for.  But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying,  for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God's own will. " Romans 8:34 says, "Who then will condemn us? No one for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God's right hand, pleading for us.

You are never praying alone.  I don't know any better person to pray for you than God Himself. To discovered that the Holy Spirit is pleading for me in harmony with God's will and Jesus is pleading for me at the right hand of God, removes my worry and brings peace to my heart! It is very comforting to know that I am not praying alone. Not only are others praying for me, but the Holy Spirit and Jesus both are interceding for me to the Father, and these Three are One (Trinity). Knowing this brings me perfect peace in my heart and mind!  You too can live in peace and rest by knowing that the Holy Spirit and Jesus are pleading on your behalf in harmony with God's will for you life. Trust Him like I trusted Mom, and now God.  If it is His will, it shall be done!

Love and Mercy,

Pastor Patricia
