Don't Let the World Determine Who You Are

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. Ephesians 1:3-5 (NLT)

We live in a global world that has many social media outlets to voice your opinions. You can show your life to billions of people and make your life more glamorous than it really is. Most people are doing this so they can be loved, accepted, envied or admired. Unfortunately, this can lead to you allowing others to determine your worth and who you should be. This phenomenon is causing a greater number of people to suffer from depression, low self-esteem and the worst financial crisis in their life. The young and old alike.  You can fall into the trap of measuring your worth against someone else's lifestyle or possessions. However, when the laptop, phone or tablet is finally closed you are still you. The ironic thing about all of this is that the people you are measuring yourself against also want love, validation, acceptance and approval. They may need it more than you will ever know.

You will leave your mark in this earth and the electronic footprint you are leaving in the media will forever be there and nothing can change it. So why let someone else determine what your life should be or not be? No one can die for you. Why allow others to determine the who you should be? Seeking to be like someone else can become a story of stolen blessings. Your blessings come because of who you are not what you want to be. You are worth something because you are someone. The truth is that even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. He finds no fault in you. You are beautiful and wonderfully made. In your suffering put your hope in God and measure yourself against His standards.

This I know for sure that my entire physical makeup, intellectual ability and emotional capacity was given to me and determined by God when I was conceived in my mother's womb. God determined before the foundation of the earth who I should be and what I should look like. Satan has tried to make sure I don't know that. His goal is to destroy us and the only door he can use is our mind and then attack our heart. He attempts to destroy the mind through as many avenues as possible. This is to keep you for knowing that you were wonderfully and beautifully made by Almighty God, and that no one in this entire world can be you!

End 2017 knowing that there is no one who is better than being you than you. You cheat the world of its need of you if you are not you. This world need you to be you to fulfill the purpose of God's plan for all of us.  Even if Satan has attempted to destroy your body and mind in 2017, enter 2018 knowing that he cannot destroy your soul and your mind will be renewed. Rise up in your mind and soul in 2018 and live a life only you can live with love, grace, acceptance and in the beloved. May all the blessings in Heavenly places that our Lord intended for you be given to you in 2018!

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I know that I was created for your glory! Help me to be who you created me to be in 2018! In Jesus' Name I pray, Amen!
