Know who is in the boat of life with you!

The boat of life

Luke 8:22-25, " One day Yeshua (Jesus) got into a boat with his disciples and said to them, "Let's cross to the other side of the lake.So they set out; and as they were sailing, he fell asleep. A windstorm came down on the lake, so that the boat began to fill up with water, putting them in great danger. They went and woke him, saying "Rabbi! Rabbi! We're about to die!" He woke up, rebuked the wind and the rough water; and they calmed down, so that it was still. Then he said to the disciples, "Where is your trust?" Awestruck, they marveled, asking one another, "Who can this be, that he commands even the wind and the water, and they obey him? (CJB)

In Luke 8:23-25; A storm is raging and the disciples are afraid. However, the disciples knew Jesus was in the boat with them. Their boat was filling with water and their lives were in danger. They went to Jesus and woke him up, saying “Rabbi, Rabbi we are about to die!”

What's in your life that makes you feel like you are about to die? That it is over and you are going to lose everything. You feel helpless.  Our Lord, Jesus Christ sees the storms in your life before the storm ever comes. You may be saying, "Where are you Lord? Are you sleep? I need you." The Lord knows all the storms that you are faced with right now and tomorrow storms as well. He is in the life boat with you. He is asking you the same question. Where is your trust? Be anxious for nothing. When you are in a storm situation, the best thing you can do is not speak about the problem to everyone, and remain calm. You cannot get angry! When you are angry your ability to reason is very low. A calm mind brings a calm life. The purpose of calmness is to give you a chance to think, pray and trust God to stop the raging storm. You can't stop the storm, but the LORD can. Pray and let the Lord speak to your heart and give you the answer. He didn’t speak to the water in the boat, because it was the affect of the storm. He spoke to the winds and the waves that was causing the storm.   Pray and trust Him to stop what is raging against you, your family and others in your life.

Prayer: Lord, help me to stay calm. Speak to the storms in my life and cause them to end.  In Jesus' Name I ask and pray.
