Betrayal Cannot Stop God's Plan For Your Life

According to Wikipedia, betrayal is the breaking or violation of a presumptive social contact, trust or confidence that produces moral and psychological conflict with a relationship amongst individual, between organizations or between individuals and organizations. Often betrayal is the act of supporting a rival group (person) or it is a complete break from previously decided upon or presumed norms by one party from the others.

However, if you have ever been betrayed you know what this means and it hurts like crazy when it happens. If you have been betrayed by a friend, family member or a spouse you know that it feels as though someone took a baseball bat and hit you smack down in the middle of your stomach. You double over in emotional pain, believing that the person who betrayed you have won and you life is now altered or over. However, God promises divine protection for the children of God and the steps of a good man (or woman) are ordered by the Lord; and he delights in his (her) way. Psalm 37:23. We also must have wisdom to guard our hearts. Proverbs tell us above everything else, guard your heart; for it is the source of life’s consequences. When we openly run our thoughts by every single person we run the risk of being impacted by poor advice and unwise decisions. We need to preserve discretion and keep watch over our lips. God can hear your prayers and he can do more for you than anyone else.
Many of you have heard the story in Genesis how Jacob’s uncle Laban deceived him on the night of his wedding. Jacob drew up a contract with his uncle that included working seven years to marry the younger, beautiful daughter Rachel. Laban switched Rachel for Leah the older sister at the end of the seven years on the wedding night. Actually, you could say that Rachel betrayed Jacob. According to the Jewish Commentary (Stone edition) it is illogical to believe that Jacob could not have detected something amiss until the morning. Jacob loved her dearly and wanted to marry her. He noticed everything about her.

So Jacob and Rachel expected Laban to attempt such a deception, and they prepared against it by arranging a secret signal between them. However on the night of her wedding to Jacob seeing that they were about to substitute her sister Leah for her, Rachel confided the sign to her sister so that Leah would not be shamed. Jacob was the last of the Patriarchs. Leah was God’s intended mate for Jacob and it was through the lineage of Leah our Redeemer would come. Jacob’s name was later changed by God to Israel. The sons of Jacob were twelve. Half of those sons were by Leah( Reuben;Simeon;Levi;Judah (our Lord Jesus lineage), Issachar; and Zebulun), the sons of Rachel were Benjamin and Joseph. It is Leah who is buried with Jacob in the cave in Machpelah.

So if you are betrayed do not worry about it. Despite what someone does to you, God has a plan. If you do not have wisdom about a situation ask God for it and He will guide you through. Do not discount your trials or suffering. Suffering brings perseverance and perseverance brings character. If you entrust all you do to the Lord your plans will achieve success. Let go of the one that betrayed you and do not dwell on it. Move pass it in your mind and get on with what God’s have for you. Think on those things that are good and just and do some love talk to your heart about the success you will have in life going forward.

With Many Blessings and For Him Only,
Pastor Tricia
