A Woman's Heart - A Covenant of Peace

"For as I have sworn that the waters of Noah would no longer cover the earth, so have I sworn that I would not be angry with you, nor rebuke you. For the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed, but My kindness shall not depart from you, Nor shall My covenant of peace be removed, says the Lord, who has mercy on you." Isaiah 54:9-10

Isaiah 54 is known as the Covenant of Peace. I know that many women and men feel inadequate or just bad about themselves because of the life they have lived. They simply cannot forget their sins, pain or hurt. I don't think anyone can every truly know your story but God. I found it very comforting that He knows my faults, but He forgives my sins as though it never happened. He looked beyond my faults and saw my needs.

So many people remember every single thing you have every done; every year and every day they will not let you forget it. But, God moves on. He forgives and forgets. He said that He will forgive your sins and remember them no more; as far as the East is from the West. I think that is amazing, because the East cannot ever touch the West. He then promises that He will not be angry with you, nor rebuke you. God the Creator of the Universe, can find it in His love and being to forgive you and just give you true restoration and forgiveness.

Marriages and relationships break up because people cannot forgive what was done to them. It is funny how we want forgiveness, but yet we are not willing to give it ourselves.

We often say the pain is so deep that it is impossible for me to forgive. But have you every thought that God saw you when you actually committed the sin. He does not have to catch you doing it, because He sees it the moment you do it. Yet, He has nothing but mercy and peace when you come to him and even before. He has made a covenant with us that no matter what we do His kindness and mercy toward us will not depart. We will always live in peace with God, because He promises that, whether we realizes it or not. Next time you see a rainbow think about God's promise of peace in your life.

So since this is the case, why don't you live in peace with yourself. Forgive yourself, loved ones who may have hurt you, enemies who wanted to destroy you. Then move on pass the hurt and the pain. And make the movement as far as the East is from the West. You will find out how much better your life will be if you live in peace.

Funny thing about it, peace only comes when the truth is known. The truth is - God has made a Covenant with you and He will never leave you or forsake you. His promises are true, if you only believe. Make peace a priority in your life. Live in Peace purposefully every single day. Instead of complaining, arguing, murmuring and shouting all the time; get quiet and listen. Listen to sounds - stop and calm yourself and let peace rule in your life; think about peace and then become peaceful.

May the peace of God be with you this week as you live, love and enjoy life.

For His Glory,
Pastor Tricia
