A Woman's Heart - Crushing the Enemy of Your Soul

My favorite book of the Bible is Romans. I love it because it speaks to heart of mankind and speaks about the fate of the world around us while helping us to realize that we can live a victorious life no matter what situation we are faced with today.

My favorite verse in the book of Romans is Romans 16:20, "The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. May the grace of our Lord Jesus be with you".

I believe with all my heart that even though we may face insurmountable challenges in life such as sickness, disease, poverty and broken relationships that it shall end.

Satan wants us to believe that the state that we are in will last forever, but you must realize that the present state is just that the present state. Things can change suddenly, a turn will come and you will see better days. You will not always be sick, lonely, poor and broken. You will rise from this if you believe that the grace of our Lord Jesus will be with you and give you the strength to meet every adversity you every will face.

In Mark Batterson's book, In a pit with a Lion on a snowy day, he talks about how we have to reframe our problems and shift our focus. He states the following, "You stop focusing on what's wrong with your circumstances. And you start focusing on what's right with God."

Listen, we can continue to complain about what is wrong, but it does not help us focus on what is right. Make a list of things that are right in your life. For example, if your health is good write, " I am in good health". List at least 7 things that are right and good in your life and focus on those things.

For the things that are not right make plans to fix what you can fix and then pray that God will show you how to resolve the situations you are in. Pray that God will restore what you have lost. Pray that He will keep you from worthless companions. Pray that it be His will to deliver you this day and every day from insolent men and impudence, from evil men and bad friends, from a bad neighbor and from any mishaps and destructive influences, from difficult litigation and from a stubborn litigant, be that person in the family of Christ or not. In other words, stop complaining and start praying and planning to turn things around.

For example, I want to be healthy so I can be around the next 20 years for my grandkids those I have and those to come. I started this year to pray, fast and change! It is easy for me to leave the sweets on the table now, because I know by leaving the sweets I get a chance to see my sweet grandkids in the future at my table.

I want to be healthy enough to pour Christ into their lives as they grow up. I don't want to lose my health because of me, if I die it will not be at my own hands! I am crushing the enemy of sickness and disease every time I say no to sweets.

You can crush the enemy of soul through faith, prayer and fasting. It takes the foot of the Lord to crush his head and the only way you can get the benefit of it is to place yourself at the foot of the cross. Pray and believe. Believe the impossible, fight for your family, take your next pregnancy to full term, leave the drugs on the table, move to the next level on your job, stop beating yourself for what you did in the past, your past is your past, today is a new day. Soon things will change for the better and the suffering will end; it only takes a small turn to change the course that a ship sails. Your change will come and soon the Enemy of your soul will be crushed if you have faith in God.

For Him Only,
Pastor Tricia
