Winning the Battle of Life: Hope for the Brokenhearted

It is really hard to describe what a broken heart feels like. It often occurs when someone you love has left you and now you don't know how to navigate the painfully troubled waters of the relationship that has ended. It mostly feels like you cannot breath, as though someone is slowly crushing your soul and spirit. You feel sad and sick inside. Your mind races over and over again of what you could have done to make things work out. You spirit becomes depressed and you feel as though you just what to die. As a Chi Alpha Pastor, I once saw a young woman so brokenhearted that her entire body became limp and lifeless. I had to literally pick the young woman up and hold her until she could not cry anymore, only dry heaves would come out with an unspeakable moving of the lips. In other words, a broken heart hurts so bad that words cannot really describe it.

But God's heart is dear to those who have a broken heart. Psalm 34:18 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit. Is your spirit crush by disappointment? You don have to do drugs or get totally drunk to ease that pain. You don't have to get involved in another relationship very quickly and slowly take out your pain and bitterness on that person instead. God mercies are new every morning and his goodness and mercy can be there to comfort your soul.

Psalm 147:3 states that God heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. God does more than understand what you are going through he wants to heal you and take the bandages of time and His love and bind up your wounds so tight that your heart will properly heal, your mind will be strong and you will love again. For only time and God can heal a broken heart.

God can make sense out of the senseless things in your life. Often times if you praise God through the heartaches you slowly will find comfort in the songs. It is hard to sing uplifting spiritual songs and be sad at the same time. He will wrap you in his arms by loving you through family and friends if you let him. Be careful not to make them your crush, lean on Jesus and Him Only. For he will speak in the whispers of your cries and He will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.

Whatever reasons you may have a broken heart; God can comfort you, and teach you how to help those who are hurting around you. I know God is not someone you can physically see, but He is seen in a song, a pray, a kind word from a true friend, a scripture verse that is fresh and new and in the love of His whispers when you are all alone. If you will stop the crying you can hear the whispers of His love. For God is the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles.

Do not let your heart be trouble or disturbed any longer for God's have a plan for you NOT man. God's plan will supersede any heartbreak, any walk out, anything. Don't dwell on what was; dwell on the new opportunities that are now ahead of you. Be ready today to do what is right and good, and peaceable and considerate and love will come again. Paul stated in Romans 8:38-39, that he was convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demon, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. God loves is eternal, man's love is finite. Everything and every relationship soon come to an end. Sometime it is sooner than we would like and in ways that really hurts. But we live by faith and not by sight; we are convinced that God's plan will mend our broken hearts in time and at last!

We pray that your heart heals soon from the broken relationships, situations or your circumstances. It is God's will that you be whole again.

Love and For Him Only,
Pastor Tricia
