Winning The Battle of Life - Strength For The Tough Times!

I can relate to when you work hard and try to do the right thing and nothing you do seems to be working out. At times like this I want to say, " Stop the merry-go-round and let me off!"

I realize that even King David in the Bible, of long ago, felt this way. He writes in Psalms 55:1-6 "Give ear to my prayer, O God, And do not hide Yourself from my supplication. 2 Attend to me, and hear me; I am restless in my complaint, and moan noisily, 3 Because of the voice of the enemy, Because of the oppression of the wicked; For they bring down trouble upon me, And in wrath they hate me. 4 My heart is severely pained within me, And the terrors of death have fallen upon me. 5 Fearfulness and trembling have come upon me, And horror has overwhelmed me. 6 So I said, "Oh, that I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and be at rest. "

When the pressure of life is too tough and hard we all want to fly way and be at rest. But then I remember who I am in Christ and my emotions calm down, the wave of peace sweeps over me, because I know that God cares for me and He will not let me go through this alone.

And David has the same reaction in a few verses later when he says, "Cast your burden on the Lord, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved." Jesus tells us to cast our burdens on him for he will carry it for us. This means that we are not to give up, but we are to trust God with the weights and burdens of life, for he cares for you. He will help you get through it. A strong woman can handle a difficult situation, but it takes a woman of strength to go through the journey!

As you go through the tough times and the hard journey, just ask God to help you and carry you through the journey. Ask him for the grace to not give in or give up, but to get you through it.

David also said, "He has redeemed my soul in peace from the battle that was against me, For there were many against me."

There may be many battles against you, but God shall redeem them all for you. He cares for you!

I know you can't understand why the road you are on is tough right now ( key words, "right now" for this too shall pass). However, I do know that every great man or woman has had tough times. Tough times builds strength; strength builds perseverance; perseverance builds character. When you come through it; may it be true that your character is stronger than it was before, and you are changed for the better.

I pray; "Father in Heaven; life can have a way of kicking us in the teeth. But please help us and block the darts of the enemy who wants to destroy our lives and families. Give us the strength to go through the journey and carry us to a better place in life when it is over. Meet our basic needs and helps us to be in Your perfect will. Create in us a clean heart O Lord, and renew a right Spirit within us. As we listen to You, please reveal the answer! Teach us the purpose or reason for the answer. In Jesus' Name I pray, Amen!"

For Him Only,
Pastor Tricia
