Unholy Acts Will Not Bring You Holy Results

Proverbs 8:5"You who don't direct your lives, understand caution; as for you, you fools, get some common sense!"

I was recently in Texas visiting my family and my sister Rachel made a profound statement. She said, "People commit unholy acts,  but expect holy results."  I said, "Wow, you are correct." You know you have to have a warped mind to think that you can commit unholy acts, and then get holy results.  It is not common sense for a person to continue committing unholy or ungodly acts but expecting somehow that God will bless them with Holy results.  Actually a wise person fears and turns away from evil, but a fool is reckless and overconfident. Foolishness appeals to the one who lacks common sense, but a person of discernment continues to commit wise and godly acts. There are lots of foolish people in the world and I hope and pray that you have learned NOT to be one of them.

Proverbs is the book of wisdom and it continually tells us that a good man or woman has the favor of the Lord, but the schemer has his condemnation.  No one is secure by wickedness, and deceitfulness,  but the righteous will never be moved.

I told the ladies in my Sunday School class that there are three kinds of people in the world: wise people, foolish people and evil people.  Wise people possess divine understanding, knowledge and discernment. Make wise people your godly friends.  Because, it is not only important to have good friends, but you need godly friends!  Foolish people hurt themselves mostly. They may spend their lives partying, drinking, doing drugs, acting without any thought of what the consequences may be, and working but spending every cent they have.  Sometimes, you can recognize a foolish person,  because he is loud and extremely talkative. A foolish woman gossips and tears down her own household. Foolish people will not do well in life.  You should not even try to talk to a fool or desire their companionship.  Evil people you should run from like the gazelle, they intent to hurt, destroy and harm you.  God detests the plans of men who do evil.    Proverbs 16:29, " A violent man lures his neighbor astray and leads him into evil ways." A violent man is an evil man and evil man is a violent man and he will try everything in his power to lead you astray.  He will tell you that as a kid, you were brainwashed to be a Christian. If you come from a bible teaching church, you were not brainwashed, your soul and heart was washed with the Word of God so that you may know the truth and the Truth set your mind, soul and heart free!  Jesus said, "I am the Truth, the Way and the Life!" The evil person is control by the Evil One and the Evil One hates the Truth (Jesus).  So of course he will tell you such lies. Also, some people think it is thrilling to be around evil or dangerous people, but that's foolishness!  Wise and godly people surrounds themselves with other wise and godly people.   They do not delight in wickedness!  Remember, run like the gazelle!

Proverbs 15:9, "The Lord detests the way of the wicked, but loves anyone who pursues righteousness."

You cannot continue committing unholy acts expecting holy results and then when it doesn't turn out right or the way you thought it should, you get mad at God.  God is God and He does not change based on what your heart wants to delight in.  His word is Truth, and a Lamp for your path in life.  All a man's ways are pure in his own view, but the Lord weights and knows the spirit.

I hope you will remember these words and become a wise and godly person today.  Choose life, choose Christ!

For His Glory;
Pastor Patricia
