Making it through difficulties

"When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. " Isaiah 43:2

As I write this I know so many people who have gone through great difficulties over the last few months. Two weeks ago, I had a very severe reaction to the medication the doctor gave me and my body went into shock. I can say as David said, The ropes of death entangled me and the floods of destruction swept over me....But in my distress I cried out to the LORD; yes, I prayed to my God for help. He heard me from his sanctuary!"

During difficult situations you may feel as though you cannot breath. You may feel as though you are drowning in debt, disappointment and heartbreak. But, God states through the author of the text Isaiah, a key word, "when". Not if, but when, meaning we will all at some point in our life face difficulties. However, He guarantees that He will be with us and He will see to it that it does not drown, burned or consume us.

The truth is you will not be overtaken, if you put your hope in God. You will not be burned by the attack of the enemy when you focus on what God has promised you. Do you remember what he promised you? Are you able to turn to God doing great difficulties or do you turn away from God?

God's light and truth will help you during this time to make wise decisions. And, if you put your hope in God this too shall past. Do not be discouraged, sad or disappointed for the source of your strength is in God. The enemy would like for you to give up and let go of God. I pray that you will never give up on life and you hold on tight to God.

The Lord is your rock, your salvation in whom you will find protection.

I pray that your prayers will be answered this week. Remember that God hears us clearly and He is Sovereign. He works it out for our good even when we cannot see any good in it.

May the hope of Glory be with you;

Pastor Patricia
