Valuing Yourself - You are the hidden treasure

44 The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field, which a man found and hid again; and from joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.Matthew 13:44 (NASB)

People do not determine your value and your worth.  You are a hidden treasure in this world and no one can give you your worth. Your value was determine by the Creator, God Himself.

We often look to other people to say that we are okay and that we are beautiful or not.  But God tells us in Psalm 139:14 that we are fearfully and wonderfully made.  Fearfully means that he carefully formed us to be just the way he wanted us to be.  Every time we reject a part of us we are saying, "God you did not do this right, I should of being made a different way."  But God is your creator and he made you as a reflection of the beauty He sees in His eyes.  He has joy over you.

Is it wise to let another human being who was also created just like you to determine what is good or not good? No, certainly not!  You are not an object and therefore another human being cannot and should not determine your value or your worth.  It is only God who can determine good.  And, He called you good, beautiful, wonderful, beloved, chosen and acceptable. Once you realize that this body only "houses" your soul than you will understand that it is your soul that must be beautiful.

It does not matter what others may have done to you or how they may have treated you or where you may have come from. You are valuable and God has determined that before you were born that He would form you and even give you your name.  Isaiah 49:1 says that God called us from the body of our mother and He named us and then He hid us.

" Listen to me, O coastlands, and give attention, you peoples from afar. The Lord called me from the womb, from the body of my mother he named my name. He made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand he hid me; he made me a polished arrow; in his quiver he hid me away."

Who you are is not determined by the things you can physically see such as your body and material belongings.  Who you are is determine by what you cannot see, your character, spirit, and your morals. Find the real you, the hidden you.  Stop listening to the voices of other people and ask God to speak to you.  Ask Him to speak to your spirit and soul so that you may know who you are and how valuable your life really is.

Fight for your life for it is worth it.

Many blessings;
Tricia
