Wounded No More

Physical wounds are seen by others and they can be devastating even to the point of death.  I saw women and men who were terribly wounded in the Boston Marathon explosion. One lady worked at the same company I did and she lost her leg.  Being healed from a devastating physical wound is not instantaneously and it can wreck havoc on your life.  Physical wounds can leave scars. It may take months or years before you completely heal. It becomes a daily process to work toward your healing.

The emotional wounded also have scars. Hannah the woman who was shamed and ridiculed by another woman is found in 1 Samuel Chapter 1:1-12. Hannah experienced an emotional wound so deep that in the beginning when she prayed to the Lord, she wept in anguish and prayed with her words. And then it happened, her words just stopped and only her mouth was moving.

She deeply needed God to step in the situation she was going through and heal her heart and provide her need.  She needed the LORD to bring resolution to her situation.
When you are emotionally wounded no one can help you heal but the Healer. When Jesus began His public ministry He declared these words in Luke 4:18, "The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He hath anointed Me to preach the Gospel to the poor. He hath sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised."

The LORD specializes in healing the wounded. I encourage you today to take it to the LORD and ask Him heal your broken heart, to remove the pain in your soul,  and give you peace. Ask Him to give you the strength to let Him heal and restore you.

I leave you with this verse:
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.
14 I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back from your captivity;  Jeremiah 29:11-14 NKJV
