Fear a Strategy from the Enemy
The apostle
Paul warned Timothy of unhealthy fear: “For God gave us a Spirit who produces
not timidity, but power, love and self-discipline." 2 Timothy 1:7
Fear, low self-worth, and intimidation are Satan's most potent weapons.
Paul speaks about a spirit of fear. Fear forms in your mind and then an unhealthy response to fear births in your spirit. This spirit of fear is given to you by Satan. Your mind is the Enemy's battlefield. He battles every day in the spiritual realm to defeat you. When he develops certain negative thoughts in your mind, he wants it to stay their until it overtakes your spirit. Someone once said that Satan's strategy is to destroy or reduce you to nothing because he hates God and anything God has done. He is sterile and cannot create anything himself. He can only disturb and destroy what already exists. He especially hates the creatures God has created most like Himself, us. Satan’s greatest psychological weapon is a gut-level feeling of inferiority, inadequacy, and low self-worth. The Enemy attacks us in whatever ways he can. He also zeros in on our ability to relate to God. He is upset over our redemption. Through Jesus, God worked out a way to redeem humans. Out of envy, Satan assaults humans in at least four ways: #1) He attempts people to obey him and does his best to keep them from responding to God’s plan of salvation by blinding them (2 Cor. 4:4; #2) continues to tempt even believers to sin. #3) He tries to keep us from feeling forgiven; #4) he continually plants lies in our minds and emotions, especially concerning our identity before God.

Jesus tells us to cast out our fear. Whenever someone was afraid. Jesus acknowledged it, and then asked him to not be afraid. He knows we will be afraid and intimidated about certain persons, situations and circumstances in our lives. He wants us to acknowledge the fear, but then cast it off with the spirit of love and self-discipline. When the spirit of love is birth in your heart, it is then birth in your mind, taking away the fear, and comforting you with love. Paul said God gave us a Spirit who does not produces fear (timidity), but a Spirit of power, a spirit of love. Perfect love cast out all fears. God's Spirit of love helps us to have the self-discipline to face and control our feelings. Ask God for inner healing. and strength to confront and cast out the fear from our mind and spirit. Your emotional wounds by the spirit of fear may be too deep or buried alive in you. However, there is not a wound that Jesus' hands cannot heal, for it was by Jesus' wounds we are healed.
Today's Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I give you my heart and soul. I will not be afraid of my circumstances and situations. I ask you for the Spirit of Love to cast out the spirit of fear. Help me to stop and face my fears. I will not be paralyzed by fear. I will not be afraid or anxious. I will put my hope and trust in you to take care of me and everything that concerns my life. My helps come from you, O LORD, who will rescue me when I call. You are my Redeemer and my Deliverer. My life is in your hands. I am no longer afraid of the future, financial failure, death or anything else. Thank you for the throne of grace. The Spirit of Faith and Love as power to destroy the Spirit of Fear. Thank You in Jesus' Name I pray, Amen.
Blessings,
Pastor Patricia
