A Ram In the Bush

"The Spirit of ADONAI is upon me; because he has anointed me to announce Good News to the poor; he has sent me to proclaim freedom for the imprisoned and renewed sight for the blind, to release those who have been crushed, to proclaim a year of the favor of ADONAI." Luke 4:18-19 (CJB)

Dr. Alicia Britt-Chole has been my mentor for several years.  I met her for the first time when I  planted Chi Alpha Campus Ministries in 1995 at SUNY, Binghamton, NY. She and Barry were sent from the General Assembly Office in Missouri to train me and the student leaders in Discipleship by Design.  In 2012, I went through her mentoring program called Leadership Intensive Institute. It shaped my life and my ministries.  One of the exercises was to chart our Life Scroll from the time we were born to the present.  There are no conjectures written, just what and when, the facts, which is what you want when you are writing about your life. When I finished the scroll,  I could see the low valleys, places where I felt so broken that I didn't think I would make it and the peaks, the victories and accomplishments.  I had several years where life was just overwhelming and it caused my soul to cry out! There were years of doing it all alone and feeling deserted and distressed in spirit. In my life scroll, I also saw the beauty of life at the mountaintops and victories that only He could have done!

My Life Scroll revealed that every time my heart was broken or my spirit was crushed, he made a way for me to get through it.  That way is what I call the "Ram in the Bush"! Recently he gave me this verse to confirm what he had done all these years. "The righteous cried out, and ADONAI heard, and he saved them from all their troubles. ADONAI is near those with broken hearts; he saves those whose spirit is crushed." Psalms 34:17-18(CJB). He provided for me and my needs better than I could ever image.  Not only was he my provider but he became the LORD of my life.

In Christ he chose us in love before the creation of the universe to be holy and without defect in his presence. He determined in advance that I would be his child. He forgave me, loved me, provided for me, rescued me from the dominion of darkness. I looked up and my helped came from the Lord. I sought him and he answered me; he rescued me from everything I feared. The Lord heard me  and delivered me from all my trials and gave me a new hope.  He assured me that His promises are true.

I know that I can trust Him and my LORD has a "Ram in the Bush" for me. Trust Him, lean on him, fervently prayer at all times, and he will give you a "Ram in the Bush" when you need it. He has blessed you with every spiritual blessing in the Heavenliness. If you trust him through the valleys, you will see Him on the mountaintop!

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, in you we live and move and have our being: I humbly pray for you to guide and direct my life. When my heart is broken  and in the times of trial, deliver me. Let me feel your Holy Spirit with me and in me. Guide and govern me by your Holy Spirit, that in the cares and occupations of my life I may not forget, but remember that when I am broken and no where to run, you have a "Ram in the Bush" for me! In Jesus Christ, our Lord, I ask and pray. Amen

Always for Him, Blessings,
Patricia
