Peace in the Midst of Chaos

[Philippians 4:7 (CSB)]: "And the peace of God, which surpassess all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus."

Peace always. Peace is freedom from disturbance. Is this possible? Yes, because the Lord himself gives you peace, always in every way. Christ provided His disciples and us a legacy of peace. He said, "What I am leaving with you is shalom (peace) - I am giving you my shalom. I don't give the way the world gives. Don't let yourselves be upset or frightened. [John:14:27 (CJB)]"

Many may wonder why there was no immediate world peace after Christ said this. Jesus was indeed fulfilling his promise, but not all at once. Peace does not come to those who refuse it but to those who receive it. Within every true follower of Christ Jesus there is peace from God himself. When the Messiah (Jesus) returns to rule with a staff of iron (Rev. 12:5; 19:15), he will then compel cessation of hostilities between all nations and all groups of people.

No matter what happens until then, know that He cares, and he will look after the affairs of your life.

May the peace of God guide your heart not the actions of man. "Above everything else, guard your heart; for it is the source of life's consequences (Proverbs 4:7)." My favorite scriptures among others "So don't throw away that courage of yours, which carries with it such a great reward. For you need to hold out; [Hebrews 10:35-36a]. However, we are not the kind who shrink back and are destroyed; on the contrary, we keep trusting and thus preserve our lives. [ Hebrews 10:39]"

With much hope, love and peace,

Pastor Patricia
