A Woman's Heart - Living a thoughtful and peaceful life.
The month of May was a very busy month. My daughter, LaTrisha and I ministered at the Arise and Shine Church in Washington, D.C. and then my husband, Earnie and I left for Binghamton, New York 3 days later, where I ministered to the women in M.O.P.S. Our spiritual daughter, Shea Nale, became the leader of M.O.P.S. It was wonderful to pray and anoint her for this new leadership position. She is indeed a spirit-filled leader and I am excited about what God will be doing through her in the future.
There were two main thoughts through the month of May that would not go away in my spirit.
One thought was that we must be careful about the type of seeds we plant in our minds. If we plant negative seeds in our thought life that consist of debauchry, drunkeness, hatred, sexual immorality, jealous, lies and deceit that is the type of fruit we will produce. However, if we plant positive seeds (thoughts) of hope, patience, truth, love, faith that will be the type of fruit our lives will produce. Many health gurus have said, "You are what you eat". Most of us relate that to the food we eat, but you are also what you eat spiritually. What do you fill your days with? Negative friends produce negative living; bad habits corrupts good behavior. There is no secret to living a good life.
Hosea 10:12 reads, "Plant the good seeds of righteousness, and you will harvest a crop of love. Plow up the hard ground of your hearts, for now is the time to seek the Lord, that he may come and shower righteousness upon you. The hard ground is filled with disappointments and negative thoughts producing a mixed fruit of strife, gossip, jealousy and hatred.
You cannot mix love and hate; good and bad thoughts at the same time. Simply not possible. Either you think about what is good or what is bad, but you cannot physically think about them both at the exact same time.
So what are you thinking about now?
It is a fact, your seed will produce a certain kind of fruit. Proverbs 11:30, "the seeds of good deed becomes a tree of life; a trouble maker plants seeds of strife. And Proverbs 16:28 states that gossip separate the best of friends.
You must remove strife from your life. Strife brings undue stress. If you are surrounded by a circle of friends who are always arguing and cannot have a decent conversation without raising their voices, then your life is probably full of strife. Strife is like weeds in your garden. You got to pull them out. Weeds expressed itself in impurity, foolishness and indecency, fighting and getting angry. Remove the strife from your life today and begin to live a life of serenity and peace.
How to put this in practice? Just always do the right thing and get friends who are happy, joyful and loving to be around. You cannot pick your family, but you can pick your friends. Life will be a lot more peaceful if you get the weeds out of your thought life. Just think on those things that are good and get yourself some friends who can enrich your life not destroy it.
Think about it this way. In Computer Science, we often say "GIGO". Garbage-In, Garbage-Out. Do you have any "GIGO" friends? Next time you spend most of your day listening to negative people, concentrating on the dark past and evil things, just say "GIGO" and take the garbage out of your mind. Garbage stink, remove it.
The second thing I learned was to stop living thoughtlessly. You must thoughfully think about your actions and how they affect other people. Give thought to how you are living your life. God might have a plan for your life, but if you are thoughtlessly living it you will never know what His plans are. Proverbs 1:22, "How long, you whose lives have no purpose, will you love thoughtless living."
I think some people think if they do nothing, something will happen. Nothing happens until you do something! Pray, work and pray again, but you must do something and that something must be with great thought for what God has planned for you. The Scriptures states, if you pay attention to God you will live securely, untroubled by fear of misfortune.
Live purposely and peacefully,
