Winning the Battle: 2011 the Year of Grace and Restoration

2010 has left us now and we have begun a new calendar year, 2011.

There are a few things that we can be certain will remain true in 2011 and beyond:
1. God will always hear and honor the prayers of His people
2. The Holy Bible will always be the Word of God with answers to our circumstances, problems and situations
3. Jesus Christ is still Lord!

And since all three things above are true, why don't you make this year, the year that you serve God. The year that you have the strength to restore your health, your finances and your broken relationships. Why not make it the year that you allow God to bring restoration and hope to broken dreams? Why not turn to Jesus the Christ instead of Mr. Alcohol and Drug to sooth your pain?
We often look to others to do what we must do ourselves. No one can make us lose weight, stop lying, drinking foolishly, committing adultery or sexual immorality, destroying our friendships or any other destructive thing we did in 2010. Only we, with the help and grace of our Lord, can restore our bodies, tell the truth, stop being a drunk, be faithful, restore our friendships and bring hope to our circumstances. Restoration means to "bring back," "to reclaim,", "to put back again," "to straightened out". We need to make 2011 the year we straightened things out.

There are so many other things we can stop doing in 2011 that we know brought us pain in 2010, as well. You know what they are, so make list. Do not make a resolution, make a restoration list. A list of all the things you want restored and then ask God, our Father to help you make it happen. Let everyday be a day that you restore, reclaim, put back again or straightened out what you lost over the months and years before. Remember you can only truly restore what belongs to you.

You must own the situation and blame no one else. We like to blame the devil and other people for every single thing that happens to us. Of course, we don't have control over what other people do; but the truth is we do play a large part in how we response to what happens to us and to what our own actions are. I am not asking you to control another persons actions, just your own actions. I know other people can and have hurt us or even cause the pain and suffering that we may be going through right now. Leave that person or company to God, because the Holy Scripture is very clear that vengeance is the Lord's. Read the following Scriptures.

Leviticus 19:18 You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.

Deuteronomy 32:35 Vengeance is Mine, and recompense; Their foot shall slip in due time; For the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things to come hasten upon them.

Isaiah 35:4 Say to those who are fearful-hearted,"Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God; He will come and save you."

Jeremiah 51:36 Therefore thus says the Lord:"Behold, I will plead your case and take vengeance for you. I will dry up her sea and make her springs dry."

Romans 12:19 Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath;for it is written,"Vengeance is Mine, I will repay," says the Lord.

See, God is a just God and he will deal with the evil ones on this earth. There is no need for you to avenge yourselves. God will avenge you and when he lay His vengeance, there is no fury like the Lord's. This is why Jesus ask us to pray for our enemies. Because, the Lord knows that suffering the vengeance of God is great.

Because of God's grace, my family in 2010 saw God restore a job lost, redeem our property, give us a new home, restore my health ( saving me from Colon Cancer) and my sister's life was given back to her after a near death experience, and He gave one of my children a new beginning with a spouse who believes in the Lord. I am believing 2011 to be year of continue restoration and amazing grace for not only my family, but yours as well.

Therefore, we can and should pray for restoration of our lives, our hopes and our dreams. To restore right conceptions about who we are and who God is can bring love, peace, hope and joy in 2011. Besides, it is only by the mercy and grace of God that restoration comes to anyone. So pray for restoration to come in 2011 to you and your love ones. Pray that what was lost will be found.
In the Book of Joel, Chapter 2, God promises his people restoration. Joel 2:25-26, The Lord says, "I will give you back what you lost to.... Once again you will have all the food you want, and you will praise the Lord your God, who does these miracles for you. Never again will my people be disgraced." Have you lost your faith? Have you been disgraced? God can even restore that!

Let's proclaim together 2011 to be year of God's Amazing Grace and Restoration.

For Him Only,
Pastor Patricia
