Valuing Yourself - You are the hidden treasure

Image
44  “ The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field, which a man found and hid again; and from joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. "  Matthew 13:44 (NASB)   People do not determine your value and your worth.  You are a hidden treasure in this world and no one can give you your worth. Your value was determine by the Creator, God Himself.   We often look to other people to say that we are okay and that we are beautiful or not.  But God tells us in Psalm 139:14 that we are fearfully and wonderfully made.  Fearfully means that he carefully formed us to be just the way he wanted us to be.  Every time we reject a part of us we are saying, "God you did not do this right, I should of being made a different way."  But God is your creator and he made you as a reflection of the beauty He sees in His eyes.  He has joy over you.  Is it wise to let another human being who was also ...

40 BEAUTIFUL VERSES TO KEEP YOU FROM WORRY AND FEAR Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matt 6:34 NIV Those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.  Isaiah 40:31 NIV “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? Matt 6:25-27 NIV But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves. WORRY NO MORE ! - GOD IS WORKING FOR YOU! Part I

Image
When we worry we are saying we don’t trust in God’s care.   Read Matthew 6:25-30 Worry does not provide us with anything for our own growth.  If we do not believe that God cares for and helps us, then we could be in danger of becoming overburden and anxious.   The life God calls us to is much more than a daily struggle for daily necessities.  We only need to look at how God has provided for His creation to know that he will also take care of us. When we believe and trust God, we know and believe God will take care of us. If God looks after the small and fragile parts of His creation to make sure everything is daily provided for, the question is, why can’t we trust God to show the same care for us every day?  God is working for you not against you . Think about this fact.  Your life is in God's hand. You cannot depend upon the heart of man. A man's heart is fickle and uncertain.  And, do you think Satan wi...

Walk in Love

Paul, the apostle, instructs the church members in Ephesus to walk in love. He encouraged them to be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma. - Ephesians 5:2 When you walk in love it is a steady, long, beautiful walk with it ups and downs, valleys and mountains.  The walk is good for your spirit and soul and you feel as though you were meant to be on this journey until the end.  This is the walk that Jesus wants us to have with him. It is indeed a walk not a marathon.  When I was a child, my mother sung the song, "Walk with me Lord." She usually sung it when she was going through great trials. She taught me through the song that whether it is the valley or the mountain, Jesus holds your hand through it all, because He will love me to the end.  Love is two people walking this life together through valleys and mountains with...

Finding a Good Man versus a Fool

Choose a GOOD MAN:  Just recently I taught on the difference between a godly man and a fool. I see so many women looking for a good men, yet they keep making these bad choices.  Looks do not determine godliness or intelligence of man or woman. A woman who is to marry well will choose her mate on character not on the way he looks .  Jacob chose Rachel on her looks and not on her character only to find out later for certain that God chose Leah for Jacob instead.  Leah bore Judah, the one through whom Jesus our Messiah would come, and Levi, the leader of the priestly tribe. It was Leah who was buried in the cave of Machpelah, beside Abraham and Sarah, Isaac and Rebekah (49:31), while Rachel was buried along the way to Bethlehem (35:19).  Just in case you don't understand what are the character traits of a good man  versus a fool they are listed below:  A GOOD MAN IS FAITHFUL:   A good man is a good friend and is a person who remains ...

2013 - The Year of Restoration and Recovery

Image
Joel 2:25-26 - And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.   Recently I was remembering my trip to Jerusalem in 2008.  While I was in Israel, I visited Masada. Masada is on top of an isolated rock plateau (akin to a mesa) on the eastern edge of the Judaean Desert, overlooking the Dead Sea. The site of Masada was identified in 1842 and extensively excavated between 1963 and 1965 by an expedition led by Israeli archeologist Yigael Yadin. Many of the ancient buildings have been restored from their remains, as have the wall-paintings of Herod's two main palaces, and the Roman-style bathhouses that he built. The synagogue, storehouses, and houses of the Jewish rebels have also been identified and restored. I took the picture on the left while I was in the Synagogue. It is a picture of ancient art and cups that were restored. Yadin we...
