What's in your Cup? Evil or Love? Clean or Dirty?

"Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the Lord understand all. Better is the poor who walks in his integrity than one perverse in his ways, though he be rich." Proverbs 28:5-6

According to Galatians chapter 5, the fruit of evil are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like;

The manifestation of evil is unleashed through the acts and the mouth of men and women. It can hide itself until its ready to reveal itself.  However, Evil cannot be contain in the heart. It must manifest itself sooner or later.  Have you ever cut into an apple that looked good, but the inside was rotten to the core?  Have you ever reached for a cup in you cabinet that you thought was clean until you look inside and you found dried food from the dishwasher? Sooner or later an evil person will show what is inside of his heart.

Jesus can recognize even the slightest evil act inside our core or your cup. In Luke 11:38-39, When the Pharisee saw it, he marveled that He had not first washed before dinner. 39 Then the Lord said to him, “Now you Pharisees make the outside of the cup and dish clean, but your inward part is full of greed and wickedness." The Pharisee was trying to get Jesus to focus or argue about the physical, the things he could see.  Instead, Jesus spoke to what the Pharisee could not see in his own heart.  A heart full of greed and wickedness.  The Pharisee was hiding his own evil by telling Jesus what He and his disciples were not doing right before the people. Maybe he did this because he wanted to take the focus off of himself.  Jesus was wise and He saw the evil in the Pharisee's heart.

Wisdom from above is your first defense against evil. When you walk with the LORD, He will make sure through the Holy Spirit that your spirit knows when a situation is right or not. DO NOT ignore the warning signs. If you do, you may fall in the "ditch of life". It may even be fatal. If it does not feel right, it is probably not right.  Take a time out and think about God's instructions to you (which means you must study the Word of God to get instructions) and then ask Jesus to show you who this person really is before it is too late.   He will reveal it to you.

If we pursue His commands, He will expand our understanding.  Remember to look pass the physical and see what comes out of the person's mouth and what is in his hands. Jesus also said that you are not defiled by what goes into your mouth but by what comes out of your mouth.  Neither, should your mouth be defiled. Look at their actions and you will find the heart and soul of the person.

Remember whatever the situation is, it is not hopeless. The LORD will remove every obstacle out  of the way to bring you to a place of peace and rest. He will deliver you out of all your troubles!
