You Have Free Will!

All praises to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessings in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do and it gave him great pleasure. Ephesians 1:3 -5 (NLT)
God, the Father, can do anything He wants to do, but He will not overrule your free will or make you serve Him. People are often angry at God for what they perceive as abandonment or neglect, because He didn’t answer or respond the way they expected Him to answer. Because He doesn’t respond in a matter that is expected, they give up on God or they believe God doesn’t care, so why should they.

Obviously, it’s your choice to decide what you want to do.  You can choose to obey or not obey, believe or not believe, trust or not trust. The choice is yours. You can even pretend that God doesn’t exist, if you like. But, the one who created more than 200 billion galaxies still exists and He loves and cares for you. He loves you so much that He would rather disappoint you, then see you destroyed by Satan, your Archenemy.  Who lurks in the background, ready and waiting to take advantage of your “not” choice decisions about God. Satan focuses on our sinfulness and inadequacy. He is especially active in attempting to disable us emotionally and spiritually. No matter how strong we may be in mind and body, the Enemy knows that without trust in God, you will fail and be without emotional and spiritual health. He wants you to wallow in anger, bitterness and disappointment.

But, God loves us and chose us to be holy and without fault in his eyes! He looks beyond your faults and see your needs. If you chose to trust God with your choices, you will find that his mercy is new every morning. His Sovereignty is uncompromising. You were chosen before the foundation of the earth!  You have the benefit of knowing God! The one who spoke the universe into existence has chosen you for salvation and He has given you the power to do His will with the hope of you living with Christ forever.

Proverbs 3:5 -6 (NLT) “ Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. “Choose wisely!

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father,

Please help me not to lose sight of common sense and discernment. Keep me pointed in the direction of your will not mine. Help me not to get upset when I am disappointed that you have not yet answered or answers in a way I do not like. Thank you for the freedom and power to choose. I chose you! In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen!
Blessings,
Patricia
