Your God May Not Fix this, But Our Father Will!

Image
A family's  worst nightmare is to lose a loved one senselessly at the hands of another person.  I know because our family lost our Aunt this way. Nothing can bring that person back.  Deciding who should or could fix it does nothing but pour salt into a wounded heart.  If you don't expect God to fix it, please don't blame Him for it.   Besides, when the media uses the word "God" who are they referring to? Different people from various different religious background say "God".  Usually they are not referring to the same God.  So when the New York Daily News said "God won't fix this" my question is what God are they referring to?  I can guarantee you that they are NOT talking about the God I know. They write about God as "something or someone" to fix it, but not God as Father. The Lord Jesus in  Matthew 6:1(NLT)  say we should pray this way,  "Our Father may your name be kept holy."   He never said to pray, ...

What's in your Cup? Evil or Love? Clean or Dirty?

Image
"Evil men do not understand justice, b ut those who seek the Lord understand all.  6  Better is the poor who walks in his integrity than one perverse in his ways, though he be rich." Proverbs 28:5-6   According to Galatians chapter 5, the fruit of evil are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like;  The manifestation of evil is unleashed through the acts and the mouth of men and women. It can hide itself until its ready to reveal itself.  However, Evil cannot be contain in the heart. It must manifest itself sooner or later.  Have you ever cut into an apple that looked good, but the inside was rotten to the core?  Have you ever reached for a cup in you cabinet that you thought was clean until you look inside and you found dried food from the dishwas...

Spiritual Warfare - Conquering the Enemy

Image
" If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!"  Jesus gave us a secret weapon to defeat the Enemy. The weapon used against the Enemy is knowing God as Father (Abba).  Jesus' disciples had seen Him pray many times. Jesus prayed with purpose, direction and as the Son of God.  Jesus' disciples wanted to know how to pray so their life would be powerful and victorious. There was not one weapon that the Evil One tried to use that Jesus could not defeat. They wanted to know how to pray to defeat the Evil One. No Jewish person would had every referred to God as Father. That Name for God was never used by anyone in the Old Testament. Therefore, this was shocking to them that Jesus said to call Him our Father who is in Heaven.  God's name represents His character, His plan, and His will. Calling God Father means we are His children. Being his child make...

Restored to Life

Image
Restored to Life "But when Jesus heard it, He answered, "Do not be afraid, " only believe, and she will be made well." Luke 8:50 (NKJV) There was a Jewish girl whose father was a leader of the synagogue. His named was Jairus. His job was to looked after the synagogue, its content and its arrangement for worship. He fell down at Jesus' feet and begged Him to come to his house, for he had an only daughter about twelve years of age, and she was dying. Jarius was a Jewish leader. He was not suppose to believe in Jesus Christ. It was against his faith. But he also was a good father, who cared for his daughter more than he cared about his job.  The minute Jarius left his job of caring for the synagogue to seek the Healer was the minute He gave up His old life! He could not hold on to that and go to Jesus. He had to make a decision. He gave up his old life to bring the Healer to his daughter. And, everything changed when Jesus came. However, while Jairus ...

He delivered me and saved me out of all my troubles!

Image
"I sought the LORD, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. They looked to Him...This poor man cried out, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all His troubles. " Psalms 34:4-6 N --> In 2008, I went to Jerusalem to speak at a conference on "Design for Six Sigma". The picture in this blog is me and a couple of other women worshiping and praying at the Wailing Wall i n Jerusalem.  My family was heavy on my heart that day so I cried to the LORD about their situations .   We all need a Word or something to hold on to when we are going through tough times. That day I held on to LORD at the Wall. It was the wall of my tears, pain, and victory. I held on to my Redeemer at that wall. I needed him to help me keep breathing my way through everything that was going on in my life and my children lives at that particular time.  No matter what comes our way we cannot get through it or even finish it wi...

Let It Go and Move On

Image
"Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10 (NASB)   My natural tendency in life was to worry about everything! Seriously, worry was my best friend. She went everywhere with me for many years. Her and her best friend Fear.  They were my friends when I went to bed and when I woke up.  I knew Jesus said, " Do not worry." But, I couldn't get pass my two friends.  I prayed but I couldn't let them go. Then one day it became clearer to me when the Holy Spirit said " Do not invite worry into your life."   It was a command from Him not a choice. And, therefore, I had to let it go.  The longer fear is with us the greater the harm that can be done to our mind, body and soul. It takes a lot of energy to worry. When I had them as companions they drained me of my physical and emotional stre...

Wounded No More

Image
Physical wounds are seen by others and they can be devastating even to the point of death.  I saw women and men who were terribly wounded in the Boston Marathon explosion. One lady worked at the same company I did and she lost her leg.  Being healed from a devastating physical wound is not instantaneously and it can wreck havoc on your life.  Physical wounds can leave scars. It may take months or years before you completely heal. It becomes a daily process to work toward your healing.  The emotional wounded also have scars. Hannah the woman who was shamed and ridiculed by another woman is found in 1 Samuel Chapter 1:1-12. Hannah experienced an emotional wound so deep that in the beginning when she prayed to the Lord , she wept in anguish and prayed with her words. And then it happened, her words just stopped and only her mouth was moving. She deeply needed God to step in the situation she was going through and heal her heart and provide her need.  She...

Strength and Courage Leads You to Your Destiny!

Image
Strength is simply power.  R omans 5:6 states, "For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly."  The part of this verse that got my attention was "when we were still without strength".  When we are without strength our soul, mind, and spirit lack the ability to be courageous and stand firm in our faith and belief. Without strength we are fearful and we dwell on our weaknesses instead of His power and ability to help us, restore us and bring us to a place of redemption and peace.  When you lack strength to endure this part of your life your mind replays the old DVDs in your head of when you failed or when you were hurt and it tells you over and over again nothing is ever going to change. Well that is simply not true! You have the power within you through your faith in Christ to have the courage to change your life.  You will not always be in the same place as you are today or were yesterday. Just wait on the Lord and...

2015: Trusting God in the Fire and through the Victory

Image
The year 2015 is here! It is the year of victory, recovery and provision. Genesis 22:13 states that "Abraham raised his eyes and looked,  and there behind him was a ram caught in the bushes by its horns. Abraham went and took the ram and offered it up as a burnt offering in place of his son." I remember that there was a time in my life when I didn't know how I would survive living through a tragedy.  I was living in a place where there was no provision, no jobs for my skill set or even a support system for my kids and me. I really thought that there was no way to survive this. During this time a friend of mine came to visit me and she sat with me while I was confused, hurt, full of pain and disappointments.  However, before she left she gave me hope, a lot of hugs, and then told me about a job opportunity that was 20 miles away from the island I was living on.  I had never driven off the island! But when God calls us to something new or to the place ...
